Ο πρόεδρος της Ελληνικής Ομοσπονδίας Ποδηλασίας Βασίλης Διαμαντόπουλος
μίλησε για τη φετινή Historica και τη σημασία που έχει για τη Ρόδο, στην οποία
έχουν γραφτεί χρυσές σελίδες του αθλήματος. «Για τρίτη χρονιά η Historica θα
διεξαχθεί στη Ρόδο και θα θυμίσει σε όλους μας, ωραίες στιγμές του παρελθόντος.
Εμπνευστές του συγκεκριμένου επιτυχημένου εγχειρήματος είναι ο φίλος επί σειρά
ετών και συνεργάτης στην ποδηλασία Γιώργος Βογιατζής, μαζί με τον Μιχάλη
Καρπαθάκη και τη Νεμρά Μπαστιάλη. Η Historica είναι μία πραγματική γιορτή για
την ποδηλασία και το τετραήμερο από 6 έως 9 Οκτωβρίου, θα αποτελέσει μία
συνάντηση παλιών φίλων του ποδηλάτου. Τυγχάνει να είμαι λάτρης των παλαιών
αντικειμένων της ποδηλασίας, τα οποία έχω σε ιδιαίτερο χώρο και μάλιστα στην
Πάτρα γίνεται προσπάθεια να γίνει ένα μουσείο αθλητισμού, που θα εμπεριέχει
φυσικά και παλιά ποδήλατα.
Η Ρόδος πρωταγωνιστεί στην ποδηλασία εδώ και πολλά χρόνια και θεωρώ ότι αυτή η
πρωτοβουλία είναι πολύ σημαντική. Το ποδηλατοδρόμιο που ήταν το πρώτο το οποίο
κατασκευάστηκε βοήθησε πολύ στην ανάπτυξη της ποδηλασίας στο νησί. Η
Ελληνική Ομοσπονδία χαιρετίζει την προσπάθεια των διοργανωτών της Historica και
όσο μπορούμε στηρίζουμε και από τη δική μας την πλευρά. Είναι πολύ σημαντικό ότι
η Historica περιλαμβάνει πολλές παράλληλες δράσεις, όπως τον διασυλλογικό αγώνα
πίστας, την έκθεση παλιού ποδηλάτου, την καθιερωμένη βόλτα 50 χιλιομέτρων και τα
επιμορφωτικά σεμινάρια. Είναι επίσης πολύ σημαντικό το γεγονός ότι την έκθεση θα
επισκεφτούν και μαθητές. Η νέα γενιά οφείλει και πρέπει να πάρει μία γεύση απ’ όσα
γίνονταν στη Ρόδο στο παρελθόν. Έχω τρέξει στο ποδηλατοδρόμιο το 1973, ήταν
τότε που μεσουρανούσαν στην ελληνική ποδηλασία ο Κούτρας και ο Μανίκαρος. Οι
αγώνες της ποδηλασίας ήταν ένα μεγάλο γεγονός για όλη τη Ρόδο και εκατοντάδες
κόσμου βρίσκονταν στις κερκίδες. Η Ε.Ο.Π. χαιρετίζει την Historica αν και είμαι
σίγουρος ότι η επιτυχία της και φέτος είναι δεδομένη».
