Παππάς, ο οποίος σήκωσε την ιερή εικόνα, ενός, από τις
συμβολικές μορφές γενναιότητας, καρτερικότητας και
αυταπάρνησης της Χριστιανοσύνης, Τροπαιοφόρο προστάτη
του Πεζικού, του Στρατού Ξηράς, των Προσκόπων και λόγω της
εκ Καππαδοκίας καταγωγής του, από τους πλέον τιμώμενους
Αγίους των Ελλήνων προσφύγων της Μικράς Ασίας.
Απέναντι από τη Χάλκη και την Αλιμιά στο ιστορικό σπήλαιο
του Ακραμύτη, στη Μονόλιθο, ο κ. Παππάς, συμμετείχε στην
εκδήλωση που πραγματοποιήθηκε στο Λημέρι του Ληστή, με
Θεία Λειτουργία και κατάθεση στεφάνων στη Μνήμη των
Ηρώων, του Ελληνικού κατασκοπευτικού κλιμακίου ενάντια
στους Γερμανούς, ενώ, τίμησε με την παρουσία του την εορτή
του Πολιούχου Αγίου Θωμά στα Πλατάνια και το πανηγύρι στη
Μεσαναγρό.
Τέλος, το κύπελο στους νικητές του 2 ου ανοιχτού τουρνουά
εργασιακού πρωταθλήματος μπάσκετ, που
πραγματοποιήθηκε στο Κολλέγιο Ρόδου, παρέδωσε ο
Βουλευτής Δωδεκανήσου Ν.Δ. Γιάννης Παππάς, στον αγώνα
μεταξύ των ομάδων Crows και ΑΕΝ Αφάντου.
