Πέρα από την υποχρεωτική χρήση κράνους για παιδιά έως 12 ετών που κάνουν ποδήλατο, ο Γιάννης Κεφαλογιάννης προανήγγειλε επίσης πως τα πρόστιμα θα μειωθούν, αλλά αν κανείς δεν τα πληρώσει έγκαιρα, θα το… πληρώσει.
Παρελθόν θα αποτελέσουν οι κλήσεις που «κόβουν» οι τροχονόμοι. Όχι πως δεν θα «κόβουν», απλά το… ραβασάκι θα είναι ηλεκτρονικό… Ο Γιάννης Κεφαλογιάννης εξήγγειλε την ψηφιοποίηση της βεβαίωσης και είσπραξης των παραβάσεων του ΚΟΚ, σε συνεργασία με το υπουργείο Ψηφιακής Διακυβέρνησης και ενεργοποίηση του Point System.
Οι βεβαιώσεις και οι καταχωρήσεις των παραβάσεων του ΚΟΚ θα γίνονται με ηλεκτρονικά μέσα, αφού σε πολλές περιπτώσεις ο οδηγός δεν είναι παρών (π.χ. παράβαση παράνομης στάθμευσης, υπερβολική ταχύτητα). Επίσης, θα δίνεται η δυνατότητα ηλεκτρονικής πληρωμής της παράβασης μέσω e banking ή ATM. Στην περίπτωση μη καταβολής προστίμου εντός της προθεσμίας, ο παραβάτης θα το βλέπει να βεβαιώνεται στο TAXIS.
Το επόμενο διάστημα θα υπάρξει αναθεώρηση στον Κώδικα Οδικής Κυκλοφορίας με τις κυριότερες παρεμβάσεις να αφορούν:
- την κατηγοριοποίηση των παραβάσεων ανά βαθμό επικινδυνότητας
- τον διαχωρισμό των κυρώσεων με βασικό κριτήριο την οδική συμπεριφορά και την ασφάλεια του οχήματος
- τη μείωση της μέσης ταχύτητας κίνησης στις κατοικημένες περιοχές
- τη ρύθμιση πλαισίου για ασφαλής κυκλοφορία νέων κατηγοριών οχημάτων (μικροκινητικότητα)
- την υποχρεωτική χρήση κράνους για χρήστες ποδηλάτου ηλικίας έως 12 ετών
- την υιοθέτηση χαμηλών προστίμων, αλλά και την προσαύξησή τους σε περιπτώσεις μη έγκαιρης πληρωμής.
Στόχος, είπε ο Γιάννης Κεφαλογιάννης, είναι η εγκαθίδρυση μηχανισμού ώστε τα πρόστιμα να επενδύονται σε έργα ενίσχυσης του επιπέδου οδικής ασφάλειας, στον ίδιο Δήμο μέσω ενός Ταμείου Οδικής Ασφάλειας.
