Στο πλαίσιο της υποστηρικτικής λειτουργίας της Περιφέρειας Νοτίου Αιγαίου στους νησιωτικούς
δήμους και κυρίως προς εκείνους που δεν διαθέτουν επαρκείς τεχνικές υπηρεσίες για την
υλοποίηση
μεγάλων έργων, η Οικονομική Επιτροπή της Περιφέρειας, στη συνεδρίαση της 4 ης Αυγούστου, υπό
την προεδρία του Περιφερειάρχη, Γιώργου Χατζημάρκου, προέβη στην έγκριση της μελέτης και
των όρων δημοπράτησης του έργου «Πλακοστρώσεις Νήσου Κάσου».
Το έργο αφορά στην πλακόστρωση με φυσικά πέτρα, δρόμων του Δήμου Κάσου στους οικισμούς
Φρυ, Πόλι και Παναγία, με στόχο την προστασία και ανάδειξη του παραδοσιακού και τοπικού
οικιστικού περιβάλλοντος της περιοχής.
Ο προϋπολογισμός του ανέρχεται σε 1.426.000,00 ευρώ και χρηματοδοτείται από Αναπτυξιακό
Πρόγραμμα Ειδικού Σκοπού για το Νότιο Αιγαίο 2017 – 2020.
Η μελέτη που εκπονήθηκε από τον Δήμο Ηρωικής Νήσου Κάσου και τα τεύχη δημοπράτησης του
έργου ελέγχθηκαν και θεωρήθηκαν από το Τμήμα Τεχνικής Υποστήριξης Μικρών Δήμων της
Διεύθυνσης Τεχνικών Έργων Δωδεκανήσου της Περιφέρειας Νοτίου Αιγαίου.
Για την υλοποίηση του έργου έχει υπογραφεί Προγραμματική Σύμβαση μεταξύ Περιφέρειας
Νοτίου Αιγαίου και Δήμου Ηρωικής Νήσου Κάσου, βάσει της οποίας η Περιφέρεια αναλαμβάνει
τις αρμοδιότητες φορέα υλοποίησης των έργων, δηλαδή ωρίμανση, δημοπράτηση, παρακολούθηση
και παραλαβή, επειδή ο Δήμος Κάσου, ως κύριος των έργων, δεν καλύπτει τις απαιτήσεις
διοικητικής και επιχειρησιακής ικανότητας ως δικαιούχου, σύμφωνα με τις προβλεπόμενες
προδιαγραφές της προγραμματικής περιόδου 2014 – 2020.
