Γιώργος Χατζημάρκος κατά την παρουσίαση του προγράμματος ηλεκτροκίνησης στην
Αστυπάλαια χθες, Πέμπτη 7 Οκτωβρίου.
Στην εκδήλωση συμμετείχαν ο υφυπουργός Εξωτερικών για την Οικονομική Διπλωματία και
Εξωστρέφεια, Κώστας Φραγκογιάννης, η Γ.Γ. Ενέργειας και Ορυκτών Πρώτων Υλών, Αλεξάνδρα
Σδούκου, ο Δήμαρχος Αστυπάλαιας, Νίκος Κομηνέας και ο Διευθυντής Στρατηγικού Σχεδιασμού
του Ομίλου Volkswagen, Mike Stephan.
Στην ολιγόλεπτη τοποθέτηση του ο Περιφερειάρχης δήλωσε πως το πρόγραμμα αποτελεί περίτρανη
απόδειξη πως τα νησιά του Νοτίου Αιγαίου έχουν τις δυνατότητες να ανταπεξέλθουν στις ανάγκες
και στις προκλήσεις του μέλλοντος και να πρωταγωνιστήσουν στους τομείς της καινοτομίας, των
τεχνολογιών αιχμής και της βιώσιμης ανάπτυξης.
“Για εμάς τα νησιά του Νοτίου Αιγαίου δεν είναι τόπος μειονεκτημάτων αλλά πλεονεκτημάτων,
είναι νησιά πρωταγωνιστές με μοναδικά χαρακτηριστικά. Την στιγμή που η πανδημία έχει
προκαλέσει οικονομικούς και κοινωνικούς κλυδωνισμούς σε παγκόσμια κλίμακα, τα νησιά του
Νοτίου Αιγαίου αναδεικνύονται για ακόμη μια φορά πρωταθλητές στην οικονομία. Στην
ιστορικά δύσκολη τελευταία διετία τα νησιά μας έχουν να παρουσιάσουν τα καλύτερα
αποτελέσματα στους τομείς της ζωής που αποτελούσαν πάντα την αγωνία των κατοίκων τους,
την υγεία, την παιδεία, την ακτοπλοΐα, την οικονομία. Στις πιο δύσκολες εποχές, οι αγώνες που

Το πρόγραμμα «Astypalea – smart and sustainable island” υλοποιείται από την Ελληνική
Δημοκρατία, με την συνεργασία του Ομίλου Volkswagen. Έχει ήδη προσελκύσει πολύ μεγάλο
διεθνές ενδιαφέρον και έχει στόχο να μετατρέψει την Αστυπάλαια στο πρώτο Έξυπνο και Αειφόρο
Νησί – με ενεργειακή αυτονομία στη Μεσόγειο, με τον μετασχηματισμό της σε πρότυπο νησί για
την ηλεκτροκίνηση, την παραγωγή πράσινης ενέργειας και τις «έξυπνες» μορφές συγκοινωνίας.
Με τον τρόπο αυτό, η Αστυπάλαια μετατρέπεται σε ενεργειακά καθαρό και αυτόνομο νησί,
διατηρώντας τον ιδιαίτερο χαρακτήρα της, μία μοναδική περίπτωση οικοσυστήματος, ένα πρότυπο

ανεμογεννήτριες.
