Το μεγάλο ραντεβού των Εθνικών ομάδων κοριτσιών U16 στο τένις πλησιάζει και ο
Ροδιακός Όμιλος Αντισφαίρισης προετοιμάζεται πυρετωδώς για να υποδεχθεί τα
μελλοντικά αστέρια του παγκόσμιου τένις. Το Billie Jean King Cup θα διεξαχθεί από
26 έως 30 Ιουλίου στις εγκαταστάσεις του Ρ.Ο.Α. με συνδιοργανωτές την Περιφέρεια
Νοτίου Αιγαίου, τον Δ.Ο.Π.Α.Ρ., την Δ.Ε.Ρ.Μ.Α.Ε. και το Επιμελητήριο
Δωδεκανήσου. Η Ελλάδα, η Κύπρος, η Εσθονία, η Μεγάλη Βρετανία, η Λετονία, η
Ισπανία και η Ουκρανία θα βρεθούν στη Ρόδο με αποστολές που αποτελούνται από
τις τρεις καλύτερες αθλήτριες τους U16 και τον προπονητή. Στο «σμαραγδένιο» νησί
θα διεξαχθεί ο ένας από τους τέσσερις προκριματικούς γύρους (οι άλλοι τρεις στη
Nancy της Γαλλίας, στο Rakovnic της Τσεχίας και στη Bistrita της Ρουμανίας) και οι
δύο καλύτερες ομάδες από κάθε τουρνουά, θα προκριθούν στο «κυρίως ταμπλό» με
τους αγώνες να έχουν προγραμματιστεί στην πόλη Marianske της Τσεχίας από 1 έως
3 Αυγούστου.
Οι Εθνικές ομάδες, που θα πάρουν μέρος στο τουρνουά, θα ανακοινώσουν τις
επόμενες μέρες τις αποστολές τους για τη Ρόδο και θα καταλύσουν στο ξενοδοχείο
Lydia. O Ρ.Ο.Α. θα ανακοινώσει την οργανωτική επιτροπή του σπουδαίου αυτού
τουρνουά, που θα αποτελέσει μεγάλη διαφήμιση για τη Ρόδο σε όλα τα επίπεδα.
