Μια ακόμη σύμβαση για την αντιπλημμυρική προστασία των νησιών του Νοτίου Αιγαίου σε βάθος
τριετίας, έφτασε στο στάδιο της υπογραφής.
Ο Περιφερειάρχης Γιώργος Χατζημάρκος, μετά και την ολοκλήρωση του σχετικού διαγωνισμού,
υπέγραψε σύμβαση παροχής υπηρεσιών με την ανάδοχο εταιρεία για την εκτέλεση του έργου
«Καθαρισμός ρεμάτων νήσων Καρπάθου και Κάσου για χρονικό διάστημα τριών ετών»,
συνολικού ύψους 433.469,96 ευρώ.
Το έργο που ξεκινά άμεσα, αφορά στον καθαρισμό των ρεμάτων και των κοιτών ποταμών των νησιών
καθώς και στον καθαρισμό των υφιστάμενων οχετών και φρεατίων από καταπτώσεις, φερτά υλικά,
απορρίμματα, αυτοφυή βλάστηση, καλάμια κλπ ώστε αυτά να λειτουργήσουν ανεμπόδιστα για την
απορροή των ομβρίων υδάτων και να μειωθούν οι κίνδυνοι από ενδεχόμενη εκδήλωση πλημμυρικών
φαινομένων.
Και αυτό το έργο που χρηματοδοτείται από το Πρόγραμμα Δημοσίων Επενδύσεων της Περιφέρειας
Νοτίου Αιγαίου, εντάσσεται το πλαίσιο της νέας φιλοσοφίας με την οποία η Περιφέρεια αντιμετωπίζει
το κρίσιμης σημασίας ζήτημα της αντιπλημμυρικής προστασίας όλων των νησιών της, Κυκλάδων και
Δωδεκανήσου, μέσω της σύναψης συμβάσεων τριετούς διάρκειας για τους καθαρισμούς των ρεμάτων,
ούτως ώστε να υπάρχουν συνεχώς ενεργές συβάσεις που θα επιτρέπουν την έγκαιρη και
αποτελεσματική προληπτική δράση απέναντι στα έντονα καιρικά φαινόμενα και όχι μόνο κατά την
αντιπλημμυρική περίοδο.
Σημειώνεται ότι διαγωνισμοί για τον καθαρισμό των ρεμάτων έχουν διενεργηθεί από την Περιφέρεια
και τώρα βρίσκονται στο στάδιο της υπογραφής των εργολαβικών συμβάσεων με τους αναδόχους, με
στόχο να θωρακιστεί έναντι του πλημμυρικού κινδύνου το σύνολο των νησιών του Νοτίου Αιγαίου.
