Δ’ηλωση Δημάρχου Ρόδου Αντώνη Καμπουράκη
Σε μια συγκυρία, που βιώνουμε σε όλο τον κόσμο, αλλά και στο νησί μας, τις συνέπειες πρωτόγνωρων προκλήσεων, και με «αχαρτογράφητα νερά» μπροστά μας, έχει ειδικό βάρος και αξία, ο υπεύθυνος δημόσιος διάλογος, και η ενημέρωση από Ειδικούς, που πραγματικά Γνωρίζουν.
Στην Πανηγυρική Συνεστίαση του Ροταριανού Ομίλου Ρόδος-Κολοσσός στην οποία παραβρέθηκα με χαρά, είχαμε την ευκαιρία, να ακούσουμε τον Στρατηγό, Νείλο Χοσάδα, με την τεράστια εμπειρία του, και το κύρος του, να φωτίζει τις κινήσεις που γίνονται, πάνω στην Ουκρανική σκακιέρα, και τον ρόλο της Ελλάδας, και της Τουρκίας, σε αυτό το νέο περιβάλλον.
Ο Ροταριανός Όμιλος Ρόδος–Κολοσσός, αναδεικνύεται σταθερά, σε μια, από τις πιο δραστήριες συλλογικότητες του νησιού μας, και καταξιώνεται, στη συνείδηση των συμπολιτών μας. Έχω μάλιστα, τη μεγάλη χαρά, να είναι αγαπημένη προσωπική μου φίλη, η Πρόεδρος Έλενα Γιαννίκη, και γνωρίζω από κοντά, αυτή την υποδειγματική, διακριτική, αλλά και εξαιρετικά αποτελεσματική προσφορά του Ομίλου, ο οποίος αποτελεί Φωτεινό Παράδειγμα, στην τοπική κοινωνία μας.
Διότι πραγματικά, αξίζει να προσπαθούμε, για το παραπάνω. Να ενώνουμε δυνάμεις. Να δίνουμε όλοι, τον καλύτερο εαυτό μας, για τον διπλανό μας. Να Δίνουμε περισσότερο χώρο, στην Άμιλλα της Προσφοράς, και να Κλείνουμε την Πόρτα, στη Μιζέρια, τη Μεμψιμοιρία και το Φθόνο.
Είμαι πραγματικά περήφανος, γιατί στην ανθρωπιστική κρίση της Ουκρανίας, η Ρόδος επέδειξε, για άλλη μια φορά, τις αρετές της. Με πρωτοβουλία του Δήμου Ρόδου, και της Περιφέρειας Νοτίου Αιγαίου, συγκεντρώσαμε άμεσα ανθρωπιστική βοήθεια, προς τους δοκιμαζόμενους Πολίτες της Ουκρανίας, και αυτό κατέστη εφικτό, χάρη στην κινητοποίηση, και τη συνεισφορά, όλων μας. Δήμου, Εθελοντών, Ομίλων, Συλλόγων και επιχειρήσεων.
Όταν ενώνουμε τα χέρια, πολλαπλασιάζουμε το αποτέλεσμα. Κι έτσι μπορούμε να υπερβούμε τις δυσκολίες, να συνεχίσουμε να βλέπουμε με αισιοδοξία το μέλλον, και να είμαστε περήφανοι όλοι, για τη Ρόδο μας.
