Αλήθεια τώρα ; Δηλαδή αν λέγανε πριν τον αγώνα ότι η Ρόδος δεν θα περάσει από το Γύθειο θα μου έμοιαζε τεράστιο ανέκδοτο παραμυθάκι. Και όμως έγινε . Η Ρόδος κατάφερε να χάσει το πρωτάθλημα από την χειρότερη ομάδα του πρωταθλήματος . Από αυτήν που είχε δεχθεί στο πρωτάθλημα 52 γκολ και είχε όλα και όλα πετύχει 18 μαζί με τα σημερινά. Με μια νίκη η σημερινή της ήταν η δεύτερη. Ντροπή , ξεφτίλα , είναι μόνο ελάχιστες λέξεις που μπορώ να σκεφτώ. Τι έγινε άραγε; Ποιος φταίει για αυτήν την κατάντια; Επειδή κανείς δεν μπορεί να μου πασάρει την εικόνα του ματς , δυστυχώς το είδα. Και το είδε και πάρα πολύς κόσμος από το νησί. Αυτή η Ρόδος αυτοί οι ποδοσφαιριστές έδειχναν να είχαν υπνηλία.
Σε ένα παιχνίδι που παίζεται όλη η χρονιά , οι ποδοσφαιριστές έπρεπε να σπάνε κόκκαλα. Αντίθετα μπήκαν από το πρώτο λεπτό σαν να ήταν κοιμισμένοι, άνευροι, χωρίς πάθος με έλλειψη καθαρού μυαλού, χωρίς αγωνιστικό προσανατολισμό . Ούτε μια ευκαιρία της προκοπής στο πρώτο ημίχρονο πέραν της ισοφάρισης . Δέχθηκε γκολ από πέναλτι , ισοφάρισε με τον Τζουανάκη πέντε λεπτά αργότερα και από εκεί και πέρα το απόλυτο χάος . Λάθος τροφοδοτήσεις , άμυνα που έμπαζε σε κάθε προσπάθεια του Πανγυθεατικού με συνέπεια στο δεύτερο ημίχρονο ουτε μια καλή φάση στην αντίπαλη εστία . Και σαν να μην έφτανε αυτό στην κόντρα ήλθε και το 2-1 που ήταν και το τελειωτικό χτύπημα.
Μια χρονιά πεταμένη στα σκουπίδια. Λεφτά σε ποδοσφαιριστές που δεν άξιζαν να τα πάρουν . Η Ρόδος έχασε το πρωτάθλημα όχι στο τελευταίο παιχνίδι αλλά σε έδρες που οι του τίτλου πέρασαν εύκολα. Υπενθυμίζω τον Πανηλειακό, την Ερμιονίδα και το Γύθειο. Αυτοκτονία κανονική.
Όμως και στην πορεία οι εμφανίσεις της δεν ήταν αυτές που έπρεπε. Σε πολλές περιπτώσεις στάθηκε τυχερή ή είχε σε εξαιρετική ημέρα τον Μανουσάκη. Όπως και σήμερα που μετά το δεύτερο γκολ που δέχθηκε το Γύθειο θα μπορούσε να πετύχει και τρίτο τέρμα , αλλα ο πορτιέρε των ελαφιών απέκρουσε. Ποιος ο Πανγυθεατικός να σου κάνει ευκαιρίες και εσύ να μην ανταποκρίνεσαι. Απίστευτο και όμως αληθινό.
Πάμε στα σενάρια. Πολλά είχαν ακουστεί για αυτό το ματς αλλά και τον αγώνα του Αιολικού στην Ερμιονίδα. Τελικά αποδείχθηκε οτι οι Μυτιληνιοί ξέρουν να κάνουν συμφωνίες αντίθετα με εμάς που μιας πιάσανε στιν ύπνο από πολλές πλευρές. Ωστόσο αυτο που πρέπει να τονιστεί είναι ότι πέρα από όσα περίεργα ακούστηκαν η Ρόδος έπρεπε να κάνει το καθήκον της άσχετα με το τι θα γινόταν στον αγώνα Ερμιονιδα – Αιολικός. Πράγμα το οποίο δεν το έκανε.
Κάτι τελευταίο . Τά κάστρα έπεσαν από μέσα . Κια όποιος κατάλαβε κατάλαβε. Πρόταση μου στο παιχνίδι με την Μύκονο να παίξουν μονο Ροδίτες παίκτες . Αρκετά με τον μισθοφορικό στρατό . Η φανέλα είναι δύσκολο πράγμα να την φοράς και να την πονάς . Την παπάτζα δεν μπορεί να μας την πουλήσει κανείς και το οπαδιλίκι που κάποιοι έδειχναν κατά την διάρκεια του πρωταθλήματος αλλά στο σπουδαιότερο ματς αποδείχθηκαν κοτούλες από τα χωριά του Γύθειου. Αυτά.
